Petal Press
Received flowers for my birthday from the dear sister!!
my only birthday present this year… if you must know.
Dear husband…. *HINT HINT*!!! :P
And while I used to love drying flowers and keeping them as decorations around the house… I kindof stopped doing that once I got a little one. The dust doesn’t seem to quite agree with her. Plus… I think gerberas don’t really do well in the drying process?
But throwing them away once their lifespan ends is such a pity… don’t you think?
So to immortalise them… I decided to do flower press… Or petal press.. Except asking my daughter to pluck out the petals and storing them away in a dictionary isn’t going to be easy cos she doesn’t see the immediate effect. And I don’t have the patience to teach her about “PATIENCE” at this point of time.
So I just got her to stick the petals onto a long thick piece of scotch tape.
I would have wanted like a A4-sized contact paper or sticky paper etc. It would have made for a nice wall-art… But since this was all I had at home… it would do.
Took another piece of long sticky tape and stick over to form a long train of “petal press”…
Which now sticks prettily on our main door where the girl could see everyday we come home.
And after I had to throw the bouquet away, I still have something to remember from the present my sis got for me.
Happy Birthday to Me!
Dear husband… *HINT HINT AGAIN*!!!
